Cream pie– does it get any better ? It is my dear hubby’s birthday today and he wanted fried chicken (of course), and banana cream pie. And whatever he wants, he gets! He is my #1 favorite person in the whole world. HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!
This is THE BEST banana cream pie recipe, period. There are always moans and orgasmic sounds when someone takes their first bite of this amazing pie! Give it a try, you definitely will be singing a happy birthday, and hallelujah when you do:)!
Banana BOMB-bana Pie–

Crust:
- 2c flour
- 1c butter
- 1c chopped pecans
Filling:
- 2 1/4c milk
- 1c sugar
- 1/3c cornstarch
- 3 egg yolks
- 1/2tsp salt
- 2Tbs butter
- 1tsp vanilla
- 2 bananas
Whipped cream:
- 2c heavy whipping cream
- 1/2c sugar
- 1tsp vanilla
Directions: For crust, combine all ingredients in a bowl and mix until crumbly. Press into a large pie pan. Bake at 350* for 15-20min or until dry to the touch and lightly golden.
Make cream filling– In a small bowl add sugar cornstarch, and eggs to 1/4c of milk. Stir to combine. In a med saucepan, stirring constantly, heat the 2cups of milk with the butter. When the butter is melted, stir in the egg mixture. Keep stirring until it thickens like a soft pudding. Take off the heat and add vanilla. Keep stirring until smooth. Slice bananas evenly in pie crust. Pour cream over the bananas into the crust. Cover with plastic wrap and cool.
Make whipped cream before serving- Pour cream into mixing bowl. Whip on high until peaks form. Add sugar and vanilla and whip until well mixed. Place on top of warm or cool pie.
There you have it. Mmmmmmm!!! SWEET BOMB-bana goodness!!

This was my first husband’s favorite pie, and very sad to say, for some reason, I didn’t make it for him until we had been married ten years; just one year before he passed away. And that taught me to not wait for the special occasions to do the special things. This recipe looks even more yummy than any I have ever made. I think I’ll make it for my children, in honor of their dad, just because ….
