It’s on the rollers and being quilted!!! I can’t believe it:)! Can you tell I am excited? I don’t want this to be a bed sized quilt. I am going to hang it on the wall in a place of honor in my quilting room, right where it should be:).
To keep it smaller, I did not add any sashing. But, I did add about 375 flying geese as a double border (it was a great way to use some of the scraps:). It measures 70″x70″.
I made sure to sew around the outside edge to keep those geese from flying away when I put them on the quilt machine.
Now it’s QUILT TIME!! I think I’m a bit trepidatious about this as well. There are a lot of choices that will need to be made for each block–“I think I can, I think I can!”
The next time I post about this, it will be for a photo shoot:)! SWEET!!
That’s cute mom 🙂

It’s a very beautiful top. You’ll have your own ideas, and I’m sure they’ll be gorgeous, but if this were mine I’d keep the quilting quite recessive so that it didn’t detract from the beauty of the piecing. My personal favourite all-over is clamshells or baptist fans. I’ll be interested to see what you end up doing!

Thank you Kate! I agree with not wanting to add any more to this busy quilt. Simple is better here:). Thx again!

Tracy this is a work of art! I was going to write amazing but I feel like I’m always using that word when I’m commenting on your posts!! Either I need to find more synonyms for amazing or you need to start making things that aren’t amazing LOL! 😀

Thank you Tami! I think amazing fits this quilt…it is amazing that I actually finished it! This one was so long and hard! You will probably say that about your mandala before the end. Lol:). ……..I’m excited about blueberry muffins tomorrow!!!

This is a lovely sampler. The colours bind all the different blocks together so it is a rather splendid whole, which is more than can be said for a lot of samplers. Well done – and I look forward to seeing the finished product.

How exciting!! I have been working on No. 2 of the 4, and it has been slow going, as I’ve only been working on the stuff with the walking foot so far. (My walking foot tends to unscrew itself and bust needles…) only lost one so far, but it has been slow….😀
I am more of a minimalist, so I was really looking forward to seeing how this looked, and the fabric have more of a washing over you feel. It suits you, and the over all effect is really very charming and happy! You broaden my perspective, lady!

Hi Kathy! I bet it is slow going if your using only a walking foot! Be careful of those needles. I’m glad you are wearing glasses;). It’s always fun to see how the same project looks in different colors;)

It really is fun to see the variations! I can’t wait to get my machine back so I can get some of the FMQ blocks done, as well as some of the outlining on the appliqué and embroidery blocks in this one. Hopefully this week!

Wow, that’s an amazing quilt! How long did it take you? There are so many varied blocks. I think it would have taken me years to finish!

Hi Katy! This quilt took over a year while trying to do two blocks a week. It was a learning experience that really stretched my quilting skills to be sure! Thx for stopping by and for your kind comment
