I am so happy to say that my Village Quilt by Miss Rosie’s Quilt Co. is finally finished:). Yea yea! Happy dance!!
It is hard to believe that this simple little quilt has taken me over a year to finish. Really?! It just seemed like there was always some other project that was more important. And then when I did start working on it, there would be a problem and I would have to put it back in the box to clear my head a bit.
That is what happened the last time I blogged about this quilt. I had pieced everything together and the top was 2 1/2” smaller than the bottom. I’m glad I wrote myself a note because this time, when I took it out, I knew right where to put my efforts.
It really wasn’t hard to fix when my head was clear and I wasn’t frustrated. I just used my handy seam ripper and unsewed a bit. It was fine.
Then it was to the quilting machine. I thought these cute butterflies were the perfect pattern to be flying around my village:)
I really do enjoy this quilt. What am I going to do with it? I don’t know yet. I will probably “put it in the pot” like my friend Jean says:). I just like to look at it. It is eye candy to me❤️
Quilting candy is the best kind of candy because the SWEETNESS is all calorie free!
This is my first finish for the Q4FAL. Woo hoo!
Thank you for dropping by today. You make up the neighborhood of my quilting, sewing, crocheting, cooking village. It is nice to have good neighbors like YOU!❤️
I love it, it’s so bright and colourful! It reminds me of pictures you see of rows of little houses on a hillside.

Ball the red makes this such a cheery quilt, and the butterfly pay to is a perfect complement to it. How satisfying to have a long term UFO out of the box and finished! Hurray for you!

Beautiful. Sometimes when a project frustrates you, it’s best to put it down until you’re ready to tackle it!

Just absolutely gorgeous! I would love to do a wall hanging version of this quilt. I would like to ask, how did you fix your 2 1/2″ difference in the quilt. I have those things happen to me, as well.

Hi Sheryll! This quilt would make an excellent wall hanging:). To fix the issue, I didn’t even look at the pattern. I addressed the problem and took out some of the white spaces between the houses to make the row measure the same as the top. I really don’t know what I did to get the bottom three rows off so badly, but it didn’t really matter in the end. The houses were not supposed to line up perfectly anyway. So taking a bit of spacing here and there out made absolutely no difference at all. Thank you so much for your comment and question! Let me know if you make the quilt. I would love to hear about it:)😊❤️❤️

I’m so glad you like it! This was a really fun quilt to make, except I had a bit of difficulty getting the rows to all be the same size. It must have been the pattern, it couldn’t be me! Lol😊❤️

Hi! I just love your quilt–it’s cute and country. I am also a quilter in my spare time. I by a have a small seamstress business and was wondering what takes me so long on some projects. Your description about sewing a project, stopping, clearing your mind and refocusing to solve problems., hit the nail on the head for me. Now I know what takes me so long, when I am sewing to measurements
and not a pattern. Thanks for helping me remember that sewing is an art and not just using a sewing machine. You really got me refocused and encouraged. Blessings to you.
