I can’t believe that we are at the final week of the New Quilt Bloggers Blog Hop! It has been a fantastic few weeks of meeting so many talented quilters. And now, it is finally my turn to say hello!

Life is so very Good!—

Hi! I’m Tracy, and I am from Arizona where it seldom snows, and quilts are more for show than for necessity. I blog because whether it is quilting, crochet, sewing, or baking, I enjoy having a place to share my creative passions.

I am a very social person. I truly do love being with others and basking in the light they shine all about them. I can think of no better way to spend a morning or afternoon than with a friend sewing or creating something beautiful together.

When I thought about what I wanted to share with you today, I knew it had to be a few of my favorite quilts that I have made with my friends, either in person or online.

Farmer’s Wife Quilt—

I have a friend who assured me that we could not call ourselves true quilters until we had made a Farmer’s Wife Quilt.  Lol!  Well, I guess I am officially a quilter now!

Pins and Stripes-–

I have a niece and several online readers who wanted to learn to Quilt. I designed this Pins and Stripes quilt along to teach them the basics of quilting. It was so fun to answer their questions and watch their quilting skills bloom!

Long Time Gone Quilt-–

This quilt was a double dose of quilty fun. I joined a Long Time Gone Quilt Along online, and then a friend of mine said she had joined along as well! We had so much fun sharing techniques and finished quilts:)

The Splendid Sampler—

This was an adventure in Quilting online with 50,000 other like minded quilters! Some of us were more experienced than others, but it didn’t matter at all. I met some wonderful people and learned that I really like embroidery on my quilts:)

Mystery Quilt Along—

My online friend Cindy @ In a Stitch Quilting and I started a unique Mystery QAL.  It is unique in that the FABRIC is the same for all of the quilters, but the PROJECT is left to whatever you, the quilter decides. It is really fun seeing how the other quilters are using the same fabric you are!

The Be-Attitudes Quilt—

This is my current, in person, QAL. I quilt with a good friend of mine every Wednesday. She always has such fun ideas for quilts to make, and I’m always willing to join along. This quilt is no exception.

I am sewing mine with a bright color pallet for a class room while my friend is sewing hers in the warmer muted tones that match her home.

Isn’t it fun to see the difference color makes? They both are beautiful and we are having such a good time:)

What has been your favorite QAL? I would love to hear about it!

1.  Have an extra sewing machine on hand for a friend to sew along beside you. ❤️ — How many machines do you have in your sewing room? I actually have six machines and use each one for different purpose. Hey, we don’t just have one cutting knife in the kitchen, do we?:)

  • My main stay Juki 2010Q for piecing
  • An old Pfaff for the zig zag that the Juki does not have
  • A Janome 9500 that I am babying for the embroidery feature
  • An Imagine serger
  • A Singer Featherweight for travel sewing
  • A Gammill Long Arm quilting machine.

2.  You do not have to point out your mistakes.  If a point is off, or you had to piece the fabrics together for enough fabric to finish, it’s okay!  We won’t even see it.  Enjoy the beauty of the 99% you did get right!

  1. WOW they all look so amazing! I can’t say just one is my favourite. It’s been fun following you and seeing everything you make – My mum has treated me to my first ever sewing machine, it’s only a cheap one but I am hoping to start quilting soon! Thanks for sharing ❤

  2. Your quilts are wonderful, and I agree with your 2nd tip. I wish I had a friend to do a QAL with. I think it would be fun. I have 3 sewing machines. My Bernina 550 is my main machine, but I also have a Pfaff (a 7570 ? — I haven’t had it out since our move 5 years ago), and a Featherweight. I also have a serger.

      Thank you so much for stopping by my blog:). Quilting with a friend is really the best. Do you have a Quilt Guild near you? Maybe there is a quilting class offered at school or local quilt shop you could join. Those are great places to meet and make other quilting friends❤️. -it sounds like you have a nice collection of sewing machines around your house! I like the Bernina 550. I think it is actually lighter than the Feather Weight! Lol😊

  4. Hi Tracy, love all your quilts, they are so lively and colourful. I like how you get together with a friend to quilt. With some time on my hands now, two of my friends and I also have decided to meet up every month to do crafty things. I am so looking forward to it.

  6. I had a few days staying with a friend some years ago ,and quilting together, a McKenna Ryan pattern, was such fun. The roosters were different, as we used other batiks, and that was so neat to see them finished. I have one sewing machine, a Bernina QE 440,and love it, the Bernina’s have been in our family for many years, since about 1951 or so, and I have a VERY old Gammill, that sits over an oil bath, it is on a wooden frame, just waiting to get the handles re-wired, and then I can actually do some “short-arm” quilting. Your Be-Attitude is a stunner.

      I’m so glad you stopped by and commented on my blog today:). Having a diversity of quilting projects keeps things fresh and exciting. Sometimes I just put a project that is becoming tedious to me in a box and wait a few months or years, and then it becomes new and fun again! Lol😊

  8. All your quilts are beautiful! Many are also ambitious. I thought I would do the Splendid Sampler and saved blocks, but made none.

      Thank you for stopping by and commenting on my blog today:). The Splendid Sampler is a real commitment. The blocks are very small for the amount of detail each one has. I learned a lot and am glad I did it, but I would hesitate to start another:)!❤️❤️

      100 blocks! Oh my, that does sound ambitious! I am going to have to go to your blog and check it out. Did you do the Gypsy Wife QAL with Gnome Angel? I was about to join in, but life happens. Oh well. — I’m glad you like the Pins and Stripes quilt. It is a great series on learning to quilt, but I had several experienced quilters join along as well. It’s a fun one:)❤️❤️

  11. My goodness, you are a busy quilter! I’m impressed that you have completed your QAL’s. I have started a few and for various reasons don’t complete them. I have lots of UFO’s. I should sit down and finish them.
