I can’t believe it! I am finished piecing my Down the Rabbit Hole Quilt! I am so excited, can you tell?:). The last time I posted about this I had started the appliqué rabbit border.
Those rabbits and vines took a long time, but I really did like learning to appliqué. I feel quite confident now:)
I have been so busy with life that sewing has taken the back seat for a while. But I had a free day today to sew and I took advantage of it! Sewing makes me feel so good:)❤️
I gathered my fabrics and started cutting small squares and rectangles.
I did A LOT of chain piecing, so I was glad I had my purple Cutting Gizmo;)
I made squares framed by squares, and I even snuck in some of this quarter’s MYSTERY fabric:). I am so sneaky, Lol!
If you want to join along on the MYSTERY fun, you can read about it HERE.
After I sewed my squares, I added some triangles to the sides to make them stand on point. They look a bit odd at this stage.
I sewed them into strips and sewed them as the final border to my quilt. Ok, ok, drum roll please…. here it is all ready to be quilted!
Isn’t it AMAZING?! I absolutely LOVE it:)❤️❤️ The next time I blog about this will be the final photo shoot. It shouldn’t be too much longer.
Thank you so much for stopping by and reading about my sewing adventure today. It has been a T-SWEETS Day for sure!!
Fantastic!! As always though😉 lovely job Tracy!❤️

Thank you Tracie! These colors turned out a bit busier than they looked on my design paper, but I really do like them as well❤️❤️

Hi Tracy! I don’t know how you had any time to get this to the flimsy stage, but it sure looks great. I’m looking forward to seeing how you quilt it! It would become an UFO for me because the quilting phase would cause me to pause. Happy Wednesday to you! ~smile~ Roseanne

Hi Roseanne! I must admit I am a bit worried about the quilting… I think I will just do a loose background stitch and outline the appliqué. We will see…😊❤️

Thank you AJ! You are a dear! I wish I could say this all was done in a few weeks or even months, but this has taken over a year and half of road trips and late night stitching. It has all paid off though 😊❤️

Quilt looks amazing and I like that cutting gizmo for chain piecing! I saw a completed down the rabbit hole quilt at the Sisters Outdoor Quilting Show. If I can find the photo I will try and remember to put it in the Postscript of a future blog post. The maker did a slightly different spin on the pattern.
