Ok, I must admit that I am so excited for my final post of 2018 to be my Down the Rabbit Hole Quilt. I have been working on this quilt ALL this year and last year!! What a wonderful way to wrap up the year:)!
I never intended to join this quilt along by Sarah Fielke back in 2017, but when I started to see the center section popping up all over Instagram, I knew I had to jump Down the Rabbit Hole and start the adventure:) You can get the pattern book along with the video instruction at Sarah’s website, http://www.sarahfielke.com
This quilt has been a journey. I have learned so many new things. First, and foremost, is learning to appliqué. I absolutely LOVE it!
I have learned a fun way to make circles with foil that makes the most beautiful fabric circles in no time at all. GENIUS!!
I have spent many relaxing nights watching fun television shows while stitching away. It has accompanied me on many road trips and airplane rides. It has even been my companion through a broken wrist.
I loved quilting it up and immediately placing it on a bed to admire how perfectly it fits on a queen size bed. I couldn’t even wait for the binding!
I am glad I changed my rabbits to be facing away from the center because now they aren’t upside down when the quilt is on a bed.
This bed is not the home for this quilt, but I just had to show you how it looks hanging over the edges. It is delightful:)
I was very glad that we had a snow storm on our mountain this week. I immediately packed up the quilt, kids, and my dear husband for an afternoon of playing in the snow and a photo shoot. A winter wonderland was the perfect spot for my Alice in Wonderland quilt!
Thank you for stopping by my neck of the woods today. I hope you will have a moment or two to check out how the other quilters are progressing with their hand quilting.
If you would like to join the fun next year, here is how–
This Hand Quilt Along is an opportunity for hand quilters and piecers to share and motivate one another. We post every three weeks, to show our progress and encourage one another. If you have a hand quilting project and would like to join our group contact Kathy at the link below.

We are all happy dancing with you Tracy, the quilt is just spectacular, especially in the snow! These vibrant colors are just the thing for a cold, dark January, which has me thinking about a winter wall hanging….Absolutely beautiful job, from start to finish! ❤️❤️

Hi Susan! Lol:)! Sarah’s patterns are so tempting, but they are a huge commitment. I’m glad we have fellow bloggers who do such beautiful work so that we all can virtually follow along without all of the work😊👍🏻. And yes, the pictures were taken at the base of Mt Graham before the pine trees. It was a beautiful day❤️❤️
