The Final Delilah Block!

It has been a long time coming, but I am happy to say that I have FINALLY finished all of my template pieced blocks for my Delilah Quilt. Yea!!

The small 6.5″ blocks in this QAL have been the trickiest to organize and cut. The templates are all very small and very similar. I found it easiest to cut and lay out each block individually. I am very grateful for design boards to keep things organized!

While this last block was tricky to cut, it sewed up rather easily because there were no curves or y-seams. Thank goodness for that;)!

I like how this block looks like there is a circle in it, but there isn’t. it is all straight line sewing.

I was even able to use some of this quarter’s MYSTERY QAL fabric as well. This is a QAL where we all use the same fabric, but choose our own project. If you want to join in the fun, you can read about it here.

Isn’t the little mouse peeking out from the nest so cute? He seems to be hiding in the quilt saying, ” I bet you can’t find me!”

The gray in the fabric is PERFECT with this scrappy looking color scheme. The more fabrics the better!

I can’t believe it has taken me almost two years to complete all of the blocks for this quilt. There are so many blocks with so many pieces in each of them. I am very much in love with all of them:)

I wish I could say that all that was left was to start sewing them together. But now it is time to gather all of my left over fabric and start cutting and sewing small filler pinwheel squares.

I’m so close! Maybe in a week or so I will be able to lay all of my blocks out and start sewing…..maybe:). Well, if I do, or if I don’t, I am sure I will have something creative going on in my house to share with you. It’s always a T-SWEETS day at my house!

If you want to try your hand at making your own Delilah Quilt, you can find the pattern at many online shops including Jen Kingwell’s site here

Until next time:)

    1. Hi Brenna! Some quilts or crochet projects are a quick and easy sew, but others are a slow, sweet linger. While I make many quick quilts, they are the ones I tend to give away. The Linger Longers are my true loves and are very rarely given away. This one is a Lingerer and will be staying at home❤️❤️❤️

  1. Hi Tracy! I saw a peek of this on IG and had to whip over to see what’s up. Beautiful, lovely blocks and all of those fabulous fabrics. I forgot about the challenge fabric and you worked it in so cutely. And yes to the mustard seed, too. A believer I am. ~smile~ Roseanne

  2. Some things are worth the time they take, others, not so much. The Delilah quilt is TOTALLY worth the two years it has taken to reach this point and however much longer it’s going to take to finish it. Good work!
