I don’t know about you, but every year around the end of the school year, things just get crazy! I have been lucky to find a few minutes here and there to quilt and create. Most of the time my HQAL appliqué just sits in my night stand patiently waiting for me to give it some attention.
It’s ok though. We all know that every little stitch is medicine to the soul and calming to the nerves. Even though, I have only been able to do a bit of stitching.
I really thought this reindeer was going to be a quick stitch. Boy was I wrong! Those antlers were teeny!
Just keep stitching… one little stitch at a time and it all got done.
You would think this is a Christmas quilt with this red and green block. I didn’t really plan it that way, but Christmas it is;)
I was also able to get the little bunny cut and glued down. I think he is going to be quite a bit faster. After all, he is a quick little rabbit!
And lest you think that all I have done is a bit of stitching in the evenings, Here is the progress on my Delilah Quilt.
I had enough blocks for two quilts, but I have decided that I don’t need two quilts. So I have started sewing them all together into one almost King size quilt. It is AWESOME!!
BUT…after using all of the blocks I have made, I am short about five blocks of varying sizes. Once again, I am not finished. Just keep stitching. I bet by next time I post, Delilah will be all laid out and ready for quilting… fingers crossed:)
Thank you for dropping by today:). I hope you will take a moment to see how the other hand quilters are progressing on their projects.

Until next time,
What a joyful whirl of colour and pattern Delilah is 🙂

Thank you Kate! Delilah has been a long journey but it is finally coming together. I like your description of “whirl” of color. I think that describes it perfectly:!! 🙂

Those are certainly tiny stitches on that raindeer. But the tedious work is paying off as the finish with each animal is worth it. Love seeing it come together. Delilah is spectacular…darn those last five blocks 🙂

I agree Sharon! I was hoping to make it all fit, but whatever. After all of this work, what are five more blocks? Life is good:)

Wowsers, Tracy that Delilah is something else! That reindeer was a challenge, but he looks great, as will Mr. Bunny. Happy stitching.🙂

New to appliqué, like your deer and rabbit. Is there a tutorial?

Hi Patricia! You are in for a fun ride:). Appliqué is quite addicting. Here is a tutorial to help with the stitching basics. https://itsatsweetsday.blog/2017/08/30/by-jove-i-think-shes-got-it/
Just trace around your pattern and cut leaving a 1/4” allowance. Clip the corners. And needle turn as you go. I hope this helps. Enjoy the journey:)
