DDDD…Dinosaur!

I have a SWEET little two year old grandson who loves dinosaurs. He has a grandma who loves to quilt. Put those two together and you get a dinosaur quilt for sure!

I was so happy to find the cutest little dinosaur panel at The Fat Quarter Shop online. The colors were just right for a little boy. I embroidered his name and added a bright railroad pieced edging to make it absolutely perfect:)

This is a snuggle quilt, so I used a bright green Shannon Minky in the back. Ooooh, it is so soft!

I opted for a freehand quilt pattern instead of an all over pattern because I didn’t want any stitching over the dinosaurs. I am really glad that I did. The dinosaurs are really accented now.

A new soft quilt needs a new soft pillow too. So of course I bought a little travel pillow made a new little pillow case as well.

I was so excited to give him his birthday quilt. It was definitely worth it when he opened the present and gasped with surprise and excitement:)

Happy birthday Declan! Now it is time to start a tractor quilt for my next SWEET two year old grandson #2. Yea! It’s always a Sweet day when there is a bit of time to create in it:)

  5. Hi Tracy! OMG – this is.so.darn.stinkin’.cute. I just love everything about it, and how fun to have made a matching pillow. I believe I heard Declan’s gasp and wondered what that was. Oooh, a tractor quilt will be equally as special and also stitched with all your love inside of it. ~smile~ Roseanne
