I am excited to add three more pages to my quiet book. Each page is a little piece of interactive art. They are so fun!!

Flower Pot—

Aren’t these little flowers cute?! I like how they teach colors and finger dexterity to actually use a buttonhole.

This page will have lots of tugging and pulling so I used a heavy Pellon for stabilizer. First I sewed the Rick rack to the front and then sewed the vase from the back.

I stitched around each flower, trimmed the interfacing, and then added the same color back and stitched again and again for a cute outline.

Now it was time to use my very well organized buttons. It was a breeze to find just the right colors! If you are interested, you can read about how I organize my button box here.

Chicken Little—

The next page was a little trickier than the flowers. I think the fuzzy fabric and the little eyes added a bit of needed concentration.

The funny thing about this page was the actual fluffy fabric. I really wanted a soft yellow fabric, but I didn’t have anything in my stash. I had felt, I had minky, but I needed fuzzy. I searched online and found a feathery type of material, but just couldn’t bring myself to buy it.

Then I was in my pantry and saw a package of ultra soft microfiber cloths with a bright yellow one just screaming “Here I am! I want to be a chickie!!”

It was perfect!! I sewed the legs down first and then the fluff followed by the details. I’m excited to see little fingers making a little beak for this happy chick!

Snap the Dress-–

This page was easy peasy. I used some cute scrappy fabric and some snaps from my diaper making days. Woo hoo!!

I traced the pattern onto thin muslin and sewed it on to two pieces of fabric right sides together. I left a hole in the bottom for turning.

I trimmed the edges making sure to clip the corners and turned the dress right side out and pressed.

I top stitched around the edges and added snaps. With the dress snapped together, I sewed it down to the page making sure to leave the top and bottom free to open.

Whew! That was a lot of work, but I am so pleased with these SWEET little pages. I only have a few more to go. I might even have them all done by next time. Yea!!
