Ok- when I say finally, I really mean it. I started this “crochet along” back in March of 2020! Lol!! Only 4 1/2 years later and I am done.

What?! Oh my goodness how the time goes by…. Well, I of course, did not work on it every day or even every week, and maybe not even every month, but every now and then I would see it waiting patiently in its box in the corner. I would look at it with guilt and still a desire to have the beautiful finished afghan. So… this past summer I pulled it out again and tried to figure out where I left off. I gathered my determination and started the final journey of side circles and borders.

It’s funny, but the outside border seemed to take as long as all of the circles. Every row just seemed to last forever!

But now that it is all over, I am SOOOO happy with it! I love the overlay crochet. And all of the sunny colors. The textures all over this afghan is amazing!!

I enjoyed making the small circle mandalas, but I especially liked making the center, large mandala. I was happy to learn how to make the corner triangles to change the circle into a square. Cool!!

She adds circles all around the center making a square afghan. I wanted a rectangle so I opted on circles only on the top and bottom.

I am so glad I kept on going and revisited my WIP. It is worth it and then some! I hope this has inspired those of you who may have a box filled with a long forgotten treasure just waiting to be finished, to open the box and get it done. You won’t be sorry!
