I am part of a fun monthly block exchange group where I make 3 blocks to share with a member of the group each month. I was lucky enough to be the first recipient. Yea!!
I chose a Christmas color scheme and received some absolutely AMAZING blocks that I will share with you soon. But today I want to share my own sewing for the F2F SCRAP HAPPY blocks. I am planning to make the same blocks for everyone with different colors for each recipient. I am only going to use scraps from my stash. I think it is going to be fun to see how color really changes the look and feel of each block.
I have sewn for myself, Sue and Lynn so far. Lynn’s blocks are still a surprise, so I will share them with you on our next Scrap Happy day:)
Let me show you Sue’s blocks. She chose a blue and brown color scheme with a warm western feel I rummaged through my scraps and made these happy blocks.

I am definitely SCRAP HAPPY about the end results:).
I designed a simple but moving block with strips and stripes. It is slightly trickier than it looks because it takes a bit of planning for the center flip. It is not too hard though:)

I really like appliqué, so of course a Dresden Plate was definitely in the mix!

And then I finished with a fun pieced flower block. It has some small pieces that really make the block special.

And here are the blocks for me in my Christmas color scheme. Red roses and poinsettias.

Isn’t that crazy?! The feel is completely different. I feel so Christmassy:).
Thank you for stopping by. I hope you have a Scrap Happy Day!!

Here are the links for everyone who joins ScrapHappyfrom time to time (they may not post every time, but their blogs are still worth looking at).

Thank you Sharon! I think that is my favorite part of this exchange. It pulls me out of my regular color schemes and stretches my boundaries a bit. I hope you have a wonderful day!! ❤️

Two very different beginnings! When I was part of the group I made one block for everyone the same; I like your idea of all three. It is really amazing how different one pattern can look. I also tried to use stash, but some color schemes were so far from my usual that I had to shop. What a pity. LOL.

Is t it funny how we do tend to have the same colors in our stash while we shy away from others? This is a great group to be a part of to stretch the fabric boundary a bit;)😊❤️

Thank you Sue! I am excited to see them in red white and blue. Heaven knows I could use the time to sing some “Battle Hymn of the Republic” as I do!
