Finishing Danglies

Oh my goodness, I am so close I can hardly stand it! My Cross Country Poncho is ALMOST finished. Really, it could actually be considered done now, but I don’t like tassels and this project calls for them on each end.

So…. I put my inspiration cap on and decided this poncho would look great with a bunch of “danglies” along the bottom. GENIUS!! I think I’m in love! Lol:)

Aren’t these just the cutest things? I like them so much better than those 1970’s grandma tassels.

I didn’t have a pattern for these. I designed them as I went. But if you decide to add a dangly or two to one of your projects, I have written a short tutorial for you. Yea!!

Danglies

5dc, Ch 6, sl st in third ch from hook, ch 2, dc on right of long ch in loop formed by joining st, 7 dc on left of long chain in same loop, join to first dc with sl st, join to 2nd st of first ch 3, ch 1, join to original dc with sl st, repeat.

Here are the same directions with pictures–

There you have it! One SWEET, hipster Danglie made in no time at all:). They look awesome all together hanging on an edge or border.

The next time I post about this poncho will be for a final photo shoot. Yea!! I’m so excited:). My poncho should be ready for the cooler weather that shouldn’t be too far away.

I hope you will give these fun little Danglies a try. They are not as hard as they look and really do add a lot of texture and charm. I hope you will let me know if you do:).

  1. Hi Tracy! I haven’t crocheted in years but this poncho just could change that. You do such beautiful work! I’m excited to see this on you – I hope you share a photo soon of the fully finished project. The yarn you chose is so pretty and it looks really snuggly. ~smile~ Roseanne

  2. I don’t crochet, but I’m working on a shawl that’s just over halfway done. I took a short break to knock out some momentum building dishcloths…and because mine wore out. I know what my friends are getting for Christmas, or whatever holiday season they celebrate.
