I had so much fun making these beautiful paper pieced quilty pot holders and table runner. I am calling the table runner an extra large pot holder because I think it will be perfect for placing warm items on the counter for a buffet. I would probably turn it over though so as not to discolor the pretty top:)

I was happy to receive this pattern from my Fat Quarter Shop monthly sewing sampler mystery box. I just fell in love and knew I had to make it!

It went together quite easily especially with the paper piecing method for all of the small stars . The paper really makes the points sharp and crisp:)

The block was a combination of four of the stars along with four easy half square triangles. Doesn’t it look beautiful?

I love the backing fabric and binding fabric that I had in my stash. I think they match perfectly!

The pattern called for four of the blocks to be joined together for a long table runner, but I opted to make the runner on three blocks long so I could have two potholders to match instead. I can just see a happy get together with these pretty potholders and warming runner greeting the guests!

I had a fun idea to sew a corner hanging loop on the back of the potholders using the “Moda” ties that come with their jelly rolls and fat quarter packs. I love how it turned out:)

This has been a fun project. I like to get away from the stresses of life by creating pretty things in my sewing room. I bet you do too!
