Mystery Quilt Along Reveal!

I’m so excited to share with you my MYSTERY projects from this past quarter:). I usually make quilts for my sewing fun, but this quarter I decided to spice things up by choosing to make aprons instead!

Strawberry Licorice Aprons

Why did I make two you ask? Well, of course I needed a new apron for myself, and I have a secret friend who will be getting one of these as a MYSTERY surprise later this year. What a surprise it will be!

This apron pattern is called Strawberry Licorice by Sew MuchGood. Isn’t is adorable?

This pattern is one that comes in paper sheets that need to be taped together first.

I made copies of my pattern first so I could tape and cut without ruining my original.

It was kind of like putting a puzzle together, but I matched the notches and taped them together. I ended up with a large pattern that worked perfectly.

I stitched up the ties in no time at all. Then it was on to the appliqué Ric Rac. I made the mistake of not using the fusible web to secure them in place. (That’s what I get for not reading the pattern thoroughly)

I did have a trickier time keeping the fabric from shifting, but after only three attempts, lol, it all came together in the end:)

I am very, very pleased with how this apron pattern sewed up. I especially like the MYSTERY red fabric mixed with these SWEET strawberries.

And of course, what would a finished project be if there wasn’t a fun little photo shoot?

Taking this photo with the self timer, and running up to the counter to look like I am always just hanging out on the counter with a spatula in my hand was the type of thing that sitcoms are made of! lol😄

Really, I recommend this fun pattern. It would be cute with the stripes and dots that are featured in the pattern picture, but my red MYSTERY fabric and strawberries is just right for me!

Now, lest you think I ONLY used this MYSTERY fabric in one project, I want to share just another picture or two of a few other projects that I was able to SNEAK my Mystery Fabric into.

Be-Attitudes Quilt-

I thought it was sneaky using the mystery fabric as one of the wings in the Be Grateful Block. I stitched it up with leaf veins.

Delilah Quilt–

I was also able to add a piece or two of fabric to one of my Jen Kingwell Delilah Blocks.

This little block was made with templates. I still have quite a few to make, but I am glad I got this one done for the MYSTERY reveal:). I think my life may slow down after a bit so I will be able to finish this wonderful quilt. Oh, well, it can wait.

I hope you have had fun reading about this wonderful quarter’s MYSTERY QUILT ALONG. I am excited to head over and see what the other detectives reveal in their sewing rooms!
