I am absolutely loving sewing along on this Delilah Template Block of the month by Jen Kingwell. The blocks are advanced which really stretch my quilting skills.
Each month I look forward to my package from Susie Q quilts with my fabric, pattern and templates. They are so colorful and happy;)!
I quickly set to work cutting my fabrics which is usually the hardest part. But this month, the sewing was definitely very tricky.
The angles were just a smidge different so I made sure to mark the corners for proper placement and then I had to leave 1/4″ tails at the end of each seam for the y-seam sewing.
Getting those points just right took patience and care.
But look how they turned out! Aren’t these blocks drool worthy?
I just love them! I don’t know if I can call them my favorite block so far, but they really turned out pretty.
Here are all four of my blocks together.
I wish that I could give you a link to join in this quilt Along, but there are no more openings. Jen plans to make a book that will be available for purchase next year. SWEET!
I hope you are having a fantastic day! I am so glad you stopped by. I will leave you with a beautiful picture from my morning walk today.
Until tomorrow!
Good work! It’s important not to be intimidated by Y seams, because they let you make really great blocks. Looks like you have them well under control 🙂

Those are beautiful, but too challenging for my new quilting skills, lol. I have bought fabric for my next project though! I’m kind of excited about it because I found the perfect gift project for my cousin.

It’s actually a wall hanging that I spotted in a magazine. I’m hoping to post about it this weekend, or next week at the latest.

Hey have you looked at paper piecing? It’s ideal for beginners and you can make really complex looking blocks really accurately and it’s so easy, I love doing it. Really fast 👍🏻 https://www.pinterest.co.uk/mommysthimble/paper-piecing-patterns/?lp=true

I agree that paper piecing is easier. Especially if you start with a fairly simple pattern:). I will check out mommys thimble blog. It sounds interesting😊

Loved it when I first found it, just made it all so relaxing, just sit at the machine and sew away and it all matches up perfectly. Clever invention 😁

I just read up on how to do it a few weeks ago, and I’m on the lookout for a pattern that catches my eye.

Gorgeous. Yours right about the colours, and it does look difficult, but man what a result 👍🏻

Hello! There is definitely a time and a season for everything. Quilting can wait. It’s not going anywhere. In the meantime enjoy school. It’s a great time of life❤️
