I am happy to report that I am now a scone baker and a scone lover! These scones are FANTASTIC!!
I just love it when a finished bake looks as good or better than the inspiration picture in the recipe. This recipe hits the ball out of the ball park on both looks and taste!! You can find the recipe over at Kathi @ Deliciously Yum!
Another wonderful thing about this recipe is how quick and easy it is:). Really it was about 30 min from start of dough to warm delicious scones in my mouth!
I rolled the dough out to a 7″ Circle and then cut it into wedges like a pizza. I spread the slices out and baked them for 18 minutes.
The Maple glaze was a breeze to make. I drizzled it over the warm scones and topped them with chopped nuts. Yum, yum, yum!!!
These scones didn’t last long at my house! Even a few neighbor children dropped by to take a bite:). Life is better with a warm scone. That’s all I can say!
I hope you will give this scone recipe a try. I know you will love them!!
I’m anxious to hear how the other bakers did in their kitchens this week…

I am also trying a new linky party for those of you who may be late to the Bake Along but still would like to join in the fun. All you need to do is post a picture of your results below. The party will be open until next Friday. FANTASTIC!!!
Happy Baking!!
these look really good. I was debating joining in, but every time I’ve made scones I’ve failed. Plus the concept of maple feels more fall than summer to me so I passed this time. But, I’m watching for the right recipe to come up so I can join in the fun

Definitely a home run recipe, Tracy! This is a great basic scone usually vanilla as the flavoring…I think you could flavor the drizzle with lemon, or just about anything you like and it would be awesome.

Oh! I know it’s kind of the wrong time of year but, can we do favourite shortbread cookie recipes? I’ve been experimenting with lavender and just made some awesome lavender shortbread, but I think that particular ingredient may be hard for everyone to find.

I haven’t made a shortbread cookie in years! That sounds delicious. We could give your recipe, but leave it open to whatever shortbread cookie our bakers want to bake up:)
