HQAL All Neat and Tidy and Ready to Sew

I have really been enjoying my English Paper Piecing. The enthusiasm is going strong, so full steam ahead! I am pleased to say that I have all of my colored pieces covered and ready to sew. Yea!!

Aren’t these just beautiful?!! There are 900 covered little pieces there phew! It really wasn’t hard though.

I used the template included in the Quatro Color Pattern for the fabric and then cut fusible interfacing the EXACT size of the inside piece. I ironed it to the back of the fabric and glued it down like this –

The interfacing is firm but not stiff. I will not need to remove it like I will the paper.

That is not to say I did not use paper because I did. I just didn’t have enough. Using the paper required sewing around the corners without going through the paper

That wasn’t hard either. Both ways are nice . I do believe the paper is a tiny bit more exact, but it’s all good to me:).

I have already sewn a few of my Quatro flowers together. Aren’t they sew cute?!

Those points are sew easy to match perfectly. The tiny stitches just disappear away.

Next, I gathered my supplies and bags and started putting them in groups.

When I say groups, I mean little bags with one easy to grab flower for an easy sew wherever I may be.

These little bags are perfect and fit nicely in my coat pocket. I placed them all inside a larger bag for convenient travel in my backpack

That’s not all of them, but it is plenty for me to take with me on my next trip . I will be traveling to New York and Maine this next week and I absolutely can not waste that precious travel time on the plane. Airplane time is stitch time and I LOVE it:)!

As you can see, I am having a lot of fun with my new stitch project. I wonder what the other hand quilters are doing? I hope you will head on over and see all of their great band work too.

This Hand Quilt Along is an opportunity for hand quilters and piecers to share and motivate one another. We post every three weeks, to show our progress and encourage one another.  If you have a hand quilting project and would like to join our group contact Kathy.

I hope you have a wonderfully SWEET rest of your day!!
