I can’t believe three weeks have gone by so quickly and it is time to post about my Hand Quilting progress for the Hand QAL that Kathy is hosting over at Sewing Etc.
The last time I posted I had just marked and glued my wedges to my back ground fabric for my Down The Rabbit Hole Quilt.
I am happy to report that all of the wedge stitching is done. Yea! Aren’t they pretty? ❤️
I moved on to the twelve corner arch pieces that make the sunflower corners. I’m a bit worried they won’t all match up once I start to put them together, but onward I go!
I have found brief sewing moments here and there in between other projects. I even resorted to sewing in the car which was a bumpy challenge!
I was able to get the four corner blocks done and two of the side arches done
I have six more of these arch units to do and the leaves before I can call this round done. I bet I will have it all done by next time.;)
This is the layout of what it is going to look like when it is sewn together. Those flowers are going to bloom right off the quilt!
As far as the Salem Quilt Guild quilt goes, I did get a little bit more done. I finished coloring one panel and am almost done with the second. I can guarantee that this one will not move any further along than this for the next month or so. Christmas is coming and I have a lot of sewing and preparing to do. You get it, right?
I am thankful to Kathy for organizing this QAL. Here are the details if you would like to join us:)❤️
“This Hand Quilt Along is an opportunity for hand quilters and piecers to share and motivate one another. We post every three weeks, to show our progress and encourage one another. If you have a hand quilting project and would like to join our group contact Kathy at the link below.”

Thank you Kate! Sometimes this Rabbit Hole Quilt feels more like a tortoise Hole Quilt, but slow and steady will get it done eventually:)

It’s all good, this isn’t a race, and you work at the pace and to the time you have available. It will be beautiful when it’s done, and you shouldn’t rush it… 🙂

Great advice Kate! I kind of feel a bit like Alice down the Rabbit Hole with “very good advice, but I very seldom follow it”. I know that there are no quilt police making me finish a project, but it is hard for me not to always always always have my hands busy. Good advice, relax and don’t rush. You are so SWEET Kate! Thank you so much❤️❤️

Your version of Down the Rabbit Hole is so YOU! I like it more every time I see it, and your appliqué skills are really getting fine tuned with this, aren’t they? Glad to see the Salem quilt update. Your coloring is so artistic, I am in awe of your shading. 😍

Hi Tracy,
I have those panels to color in and cross stitch as well! I haven’t started them – maybe in 2018 they’ll see the light of day. If you thought November went by fast, hold on to your seat because the 31 days of December really fly by. Right?!! At least for me they do. ~smile~ Roseanne

December is the quickest month of the year! I do hope we both will be working on the Salem Quilt Guild Together. It would be fun to exchange techniques ❤️

I really like the background on yours. This has become a very popular pattern, and I almost wish I’d started it. But then I’d be way behind. LOL The Salem Quilt Guild looks really good, too. Progress! I can’t appliqué in the car. I can stitch hexagons together and I can stitch seams on crazy blocks, I can even bead them, but I can’t appliqué. You did really well!

Appliqué in the car is a bumpy risk for uneven stitches to be sure! Don’t look too close at some of those pointed sunflower petals! Lol:)!

I definitely understand that! I’ve decided to limit my handmade gifts this year as I feel that some people don’t appreciate the effort that goes in. Especially with crochet and knitting, it takes too long for it not to be valued properly 😊

Isn’t that the truth! Only a very special person gets handmade❤️❤️. That makes me feel even more at the top of the list with my beautiful socks!!!
